INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

1. Do I need a Passport to travel to Jamaica? 
Jamaica is an international country and requires a passport to visit. Passport(s) must be valid for at least six months prior to the expiration date.
 All travelers (including minors) are require to have a valid passport. When traveling internationally, you must provide a flight receipt or an itinerary upon request during customs interview (we will provide you with this information prior to travel).

2. Can I travel to Jamaica with a Passport Card?

The passport card was designed for the specific needs of northern and southern U.S. border communities with residents that cross the border frequently by land. The passport book is the only document approved for international travel by air.

3. Do I need a Visa to travel to Jamaica?

You do not need a visa for tourist travel to Jamaica for up to 90 days. Visit the Passport, Immigration, & Citizenship Agency of Jamaica or the Embassy of Jamaica in Washington D.C. websites for the most current visa information. Entry Information: For faster processing on arrival at the airport, travelers are encouraged to submit their Immigration/Customs C5 card online at least 48 hours before arrival, click HERE to do so.

If you do not submit online, you may complete the paper form issued in-flight by the airline. Please note, your wait at immigration in Jamaica may be longer if you complete the paper form in-flight.

Exit Information: Your departure tax is regularly included in the airfare. You won’t be charged an exit tax on your way out.

 

4. What Should a U.S. Citizen Do if his/her Passport is Lost or Stolen Abroad? 
 You will have to replace the passport before returning to the United States. Contact the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate for assistance. Contact information for Jamaican Embassy and  Consulates.
Complete the DS-11 passport application form and fill out the DS-64 form within which you will need to complete a statement regarding the lost passport. Pay your fees ($110 – the same fee as a new passport).

TRANSPORTATION

1. Are flights included in the package price?

Flights are not included in the retreat package price. Group transportation to and from the resort, your selected room, all meals and drinks on the resort, and the retreat events and services are included in the package price.

 

2. What airport should I fly into?
We recommend flying into Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Sangster International Airport Located in Montego Bay, this is the primary point of entry for The WOTW event and the airport code is "MBJ" .  This is the closest airport to the resort where the event is hosted.

However, there are three international airports in Jamaica:  Sangster International Airport (MBJ) in Montego Bay, Norman Manley International Airport (KIN) in Kingston, and the Ian Fleming International Airport (IATA).

3. Which airline should I use?
There are many airlines that fly to and from Jamaica with various flights and schedules for arrival and departure from the island. When purchasing your ticket(s), select an airline which best matches the dates and times that work for your travel, and consider the transfers arrival and departures times of your trip. You may want to check "The Hopper" website or mobile app to find the best times and dates to book your flights, you can visit the site HERE. Google Travel may also provide some insight into the best time to book for the best rates.

4. What if I need to change my flight after booking?
Be sure to review the airline rules and restrictions prior to booking to understand their policy for flight changes and potential fees assessed.  Please also inform a member of our team of the changes, as transportation to and from the Jamaica airport may be impacted.

5. What if I missed my flight?

Please contact your airline to determine if they can book you on an alternate flight. Please also advise a member of the WOTW team of the missed flight and new flight information where applicable. Please note, you may be responsible for booking your own transportation to and/or from the resort.

6. What if I want to arrive earlier or later than the available times for the WOTW transportation? You are welcome to arrive and depart at dates and times that work for your schedule. However, you will be responsible for purchasing your own transportation to and/or from the resort. Please contact a member of the WOTW team to advise of your plans, as we may be able to help you book a separate ride to and from the resort.


7. What are the Arrival and Departure times for the group transportation?
The group transportation and arrivals time will be provided once we have received the arrival and departure times from attendees by the cut-off date. The transportation times will be based on the average times of attendees arrivals and departures. Any arrival and departure data received after the cut-off date will not be considered in the transportation schedule and may result in attendees booking personal transportation to and/or from the resort.  We will update this FAQ with the transportation schedule once determined.

 

8. Is the package price reduced if I want  to book my own private transportation to and from the resort?

No. Transportation to and from the resort is provided as a courtesy of the WOTW retreat organizers and is not a charge in your package price.

 

 

RESORT

1. What is the name and address of the resort?

2. What are the check-in and check-out times?

General check-in time is 3pm local time and check-out is 12pm local time. However, early check-in and late check-out may be available based on hotel availability for a fee. Certain room types may have this option available as complimentary and based on hotel availability. Please contact a member of the WOTW team for further questions. 

 

3. Can I upgrade my room upon arrival?

Yes, if the room category is available you may request an upgrade. However, the upgrade price may exceed the room price offered at the time registering for the retreat.

 

4. What is the average cost of a meal for a family of 4 at the resort?

The resort is all-inclusive and there is no extra charge for meals and drinks.

 

5. What if I want to eat outside of the resort?

You are welcome to dine outside of the resort at your own expense.

 

6. What are the age requirements for the "kids rate" ?

Children between the ages of 0-2 years old are free, children between the ages of 3-12 qualify for the "kids rate", kids ages 13 & up are charged the adult rate.

 

7. How many occupants to a room?

The number of occupants per room depends on the type of room, for e.g. the rooftop suites are limited to 3 persons per room, while the swim-up suites allow 4 persons per room. Each room type at registration will indicate how many persons are allowed per room.  

8. What if I have more than the max occupants in my family?

You will have to purchase additional rooms to accommodate your party. Single occupancy rooms are available  for a 5th Adult in your party. If you purchase two rooms, please let a member of the WOTW team know and we will try to put the rooms together. 

9. I booked my room and received a confirmation, where do I find my room number?

Room numbers will be provided at the time of check-in and registration at the resort.

10. Is WIFI available at the resort? 

Yes, the resort and the rooms are equipped with free WIFI. 

11. Are wheelchair accessible rooms available? 

Yes, please contact a member of the WOTW team for additional information.

12. Are spa services included with the all-inclusive package? 

No, spa services are a separate charge. Some room categories will have complimentary access to the spa hydro pool and saunas. We have also arranged for a 15% discount on all spa services for the WOTW retreat attendees.

13. Will the resort provide complimentary toiletries? 

Yes, the resort does provide basic complimentary toiletries. 

14. Does the resort offer childcare? 
The hotel features the Daisy Club, a full program of activities for children aged 4–12, led by their team of professionals. There is also a separate “Teen Club” for teens ages 13-17. You can find more information on the resorts website HERE.


In addition, based on demand the WOTW team may offer childcare by licensed Christian Early Childhood Professionals from NYC for a fee. If you are interested please complete this inquiry form HERE and a member of our team will provide additional information. Please contact a member of the WOTW team for any other questions.  

 

15. Does the resort offer toll-free calls to the U.S.? 

Calls from the resort to the U.S. are not toll-free. The WOTW team recommends you an your family back home download the mobile app "WhatsApp", for toll-free calls to and from the U.S. You should also consult your wireless plan carrier for any potential roaming charges and international plan options.

 

16. Can I add additional nights to my stay?

Yes, we are able to extend the event discount room rate to attendees for 6 additional days; 3-nights before the event and 3-nights after the event. Please visit the registration page to view your options.
 

 

PAYMENTS

1. Are Payment arrangements available? 

WOTW has partnered with AfterPay to offer payment plans for the retreat, it is an option on the checkout page. You must select your room and enter your information and go to the checkout page to see your payment options. In addition, PayPal "Pay in 4" is available through the PayPal  option at checkout for those who qualify through PayPal. We are currently working to integrate Affirm at checkout, however in the interim you may visit Affirms website or mobile app to access the Affirm payment card and use the card at checkout like a credit card.  Please visit Affirm's website HERE for more information on their card. 

2. What if I do not qualify for any of the payment plan options above? 

With discretion, WOTW may offer a custom recurring payment plan on a limited basis. Please complete this custom payment plan request form HERE and a member of the WOTW team will contact you.

 

3. Are payments refundable? 

A percentage of payments are refundable within a certain time-frame. Please see question #5 in this category for additional information or contact a member of the WOTW team for further information. 

 

4. Is travel insurance available for purchase? 

We do not offer travel insurance, however some airlines and credit card companies may offer you travel insurance. Please inquire with your airline and credit card company for further information. You may also inquire with Allianz Travel about purchasing your own travel policy, click HERE to view their website.

5. What is the policy for cancellations and refunds? 

Cancellation and Refunds:
 120-91 days prior to scheduled arrival - Cancellation will result in the penalty of 30% of your booking.
 90 – 61 days prior to scheduled group arrival - Cancellation will result in the penalty of 75% of your booking.
 60 - 31 days prior to scheduled group arrival - Cancellation will result in the penalty of 100% of your booking.

Please note, all cancellations must be in writing to womenonthewall.inc@gmail.com and must be acknowledged as received. In addition, refunds may take up to 21 days to be initiated by WOTW.
 

HEALTH & WELLNESS


1. Are there any COVID-19 restrictions in Jamaica?

As of 2/26/2024, there are no COVID-19 testing or vaccination requirements for Jamaica. However, we strongly recommend you check the local government site listed below for the most current information on travel requirements. The information provided is subject to change and is not guaranteed to be free from errors or inaccuracies.

2. Who do I call in the event of an emergency while in Jamaica? 

You should call 119, which is the emergency services code. If applicable, you should also alert the front desk and the WOTW team. 

3. What if am feeling sick while at the resort? 

Ocean Coral Spring Resort has a full-time nurses office on the premises.  There is also a gift shop that offers various over-the-counter medicines. If you are feeling sick please advise the hotel front desk and the WOTW team. 

4. Will my medical insurance cover me while in Jamaica? 

Please consult your medical insurance prior to leaving the U.S. to determine what your specific coverage entails. 

5. Does Jamaica have a hospital?

Yes, Jamaica does have a hospital. 

6. What if I run out of medication or forget my medication at home? 

Jamaica does have pharmacies, however please consult your insurance company, pharmacy and doctor to determine if prescriptions can be filled in Jamaica and/ or if overnight service is available.  The WOTW team recommends you create a checklist for yourself so that you do not forget crucial items such as medications, passports, wallets, etc. 

LOCAL INFORMATION

 

1. What is the currency for Jamaica? 

Jamaica has its own currency, Jamaican Dollars. 

 

2. What is the exchange rate of the Jamaican Dollar to the U.S. Dollar? 

Currency exchange rates fluctuate daily, you can check Google for daily rates as well as the front desk at the resort. Generally speaking on average $150 Jamaican Dollars (JMD) is equal to $1 US Dollar (USD)

3. What type of plug is used in Jamaica?

Jamaica uses 110 volt plugs.

4. What language is spoken in Jamaica?

English

RETREAT INFORMATION

 

1. What's included in my retreat package?

Your retreat package price includes your selected room at the resort, meals and drinks on the resort premises, access to the WOTW retreat services, events and activities.  The WOTW retreat will also provide complimentary transportation to and from the resort at designated times, which will be communicated once we have collected the majority of attendees airline information. 

2. What is the schedule for the WOTW Retreat? 

We have added a tentative schedule and itinerary to the Retreat Details page. Once finalized we will send an updated schedule and itinerary to all attendees and update the website accordingly.

3. Will we have free-time during the retreat? 

Yes, free-time will be allotted for in the schedule. If you have added additional days to your stay, those days are separate from the event activities.

4. Who are the speakers for the retreat? 

The retreat speakers will be announced at a later date with any schedule and itinerary updates. 

5. Are men invited to the retreat? 

Yes, men and women are invited to the retreat, events, activities and games.

6. Are children invited to the retreat? 
Children are invited to the resort and evening retreat services, but are not invited to the retreat workshops on Saturday morning. Children are also welcomed to participate in other WOTW activities and events. 


7. Does the resort offer childcare?

8. Can I arrive earlier than Aug 16th or stay later than Aug 19th?

Yes, we are able to extend your discounted room rate to include up to an additional 3-days before (as early as Aug 13th) the retreat and up to an additional 3-days after the retreat (as late as Aug. 22nd). You can find these options on the registration page as "Extend Stay".

To add the additional days select the additional dates you want and checkout. If you need to extend your stay for more than 2 Adults, with children or for a single adult, please contact a member of our team via the "let's chat" button at the bottom of your screen or the Contact Us page

 

Example #1 

You have 2 Adults in your party and want to arrive at the resort 2 days early and stay an additional night after the event, a total of 3 extra nights.

On the registration page you first need to select your room category for the number of occupants for the retreat (2 Adults).

Next, scroll all the way down to the bottom of the ticket options and look for the "Extend Stay" options for the room category you want. Add each additional date you want to stay "Aug 14th", "Aug 15th" and "Aug 19th" . Each additional date is already priced for 2 Adults, so only add  each date once if you are extending for 2 Adults . Checkout and you are registered for the WOTW retreat for 2 Adults and a resort stay from Aug 14 - 20th. If you are extending the stay for more than 2 Adults, please contact a member of our team via the "Let's Chat" button at the bottom of your screen or via the "Contact" page.

9. If I come earlier or stay later will transportation to and from the resort still be complimentary? 

No, complimentary transportation to and from the resort is only offered for the selected times and date of the retreat arrival and departures.  Contact a member of our team to potentially assist you with booking alternate transportation options.
