There are a lot of people who claim to be Christians and filled with the Holy Spirit. However some of these same people seem to be the most non -Christ like folks. Now please note that I said some not all, because there are Christians that truly do try to exemplify our Savior Christ Jesus. Then there are those who will go around claiming Christ but their deeds and actions are far from it.
The Bible says try the spirit by the spirit to see if it is of God. Some people have a hard time with this, because believe it are not there are a lot of Christians who are not clear about the characteristics of God. This makes them unsure about the authenticity of His spirit due to their lack of knowledge. The Bible states my people perish due to lack of knowledge. However the Bible also says in Proverbs 4:7wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
How do we know that we and others are exemplifying a Christian or Christ like behavior? The Bible says by their fruits you shall know them. Not by their claims, affirmations nor their self records but, by their fruits you shall know them! I'm not talking about apples, bananas or oranges I'm talking about the fruits of the spirit. What are the fruits of the spirit? Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
People of God listen we must live a Christ like lifestyle, when people try our spirit there should be confirmation that it is of God. That means that the fruits should be evident. What is the definition of Evident? It means plain or obvious, clearly seen or understood. If you Got Fruit it will be evident that you are of God and his spirit abides in you. If there's no evidence of fruit don't be discouraged, the Bible says whatever you need you can pray and ask the father for it. Trust me you need the fruits of the Spirit to be effective as a child of God; For we are the ambassadors and representatives of Jesus Christ. How do we represent Christ? By showing our fruits! Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and Temperance! Now ask yourself this question; GOT FRUIT? Whatever your answer is govern yourself accordingly!
