This week I want to continue explaining why I love the scripture.1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man. But God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Last week we discussed how whatever situation or circumstances you’re dealing with, it's not complicated, it's common. The word of God has made it it that there hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man. That means God has seen it all before (it's not just you!), and he knows how to deliver you out of all your troubles.
I like to get into the second sentence in this verse "But God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above ye are able. These words say so much about the kind of God we serve and reassure me of his love. I get really excited because the Bible reminds us in this scripture that God is faithful. I get excited because when you look up the definition of faithful it reads; faithful is an adjective that means steadfast in affection or allegiance. (if you're not excited yet watch this) It goes on to say Faithful describes someone who is reliable and consistent.
Wow is all I can say because if God is faithful to me in every trial, circumstances and issue that I deal with then I won't complain. Why you ask? Because I know that God loves me and since he loves me His affection of love will be steadfast towards me. That's why I am assured that whatever the enemy meant for evil that God (because He loves me) will turn it around for my good! I don't have to question if God will come to my rescue because the definition of faithful is reliable. When someone is reliable you know come hell or high water if you need that person, they will be there. Now think about God who is omnipresent, He can be on the other side of the road rescuing some else and come and see about me at the same time. Do you understand that nothing, not traffic, not wars, earthquakes nothing can stop God from getting to you? (let's just reflect on that statement for a minute). When you understand that God can be everywhere at the time then there is no place where he cannot come and get you. The Bible says if I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold thou art there (Psalm 139:8). Wow doesn’t that just blow your mind that not even hell can keep our loving Father away from us.
The next part of the sentence in this scripture states "who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able" We love to say I can take a lot but this right here is too much for me to handle! (I have my hands and feet raised up for this one saying yeah that's me!) I can remember going through some crazy situation and thinking I should have lost my mind! However I stood strong in the situation and came out stronger, wiser and better (by the way that Marvin Sapp song help me get over!). Listen even though you didn't think you could make it through those crazy situations, God knew you were able. How do I know that? Because the Bible says He will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able. Understand if you couldn't make it through the situation God would not have let you go through. That means simply said that your situation is confirmation that your able to walk through it!.
People of God listen, God is faithful concerning us, His word says He will never leave us nor forsake us. No matter what you’re going through I know it's rough but God would not suffer you to go through more than what you can handle. The Bible says it was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees (Psalm 119:71). If you don't understand this scripture; I will tell you like my Mother always say "Just Keep On Living!" Because I promise you there will be situation and circumstances that will arrive, and after you go through them and you realize that you are better because of them. Better yet you will say if that situation would have never happen I would not have step out in faith and walked into my destiny. I could tell you some stuff but I will leave it for another blog entry.
Come back next week and I will finish explaining why I love this scripture
I Love You With The Love Of The Lord
